My Garden

My beautiful garden is located in the coastal region of Perth, Western Australia. I derive a lot of pleasure and relaxation from working in it on weekends and from walking around looking at the plants.

It was established about 10 years ago after having been a large expanse of lawn. The garden consists of many perennials as well as beds of annuals that we change from season to season.

Some of my favourite annuals include petunias, violas, alyssum, lobelia, vincas. These annuals grow very well in the dry summers and mild, wet winters that Perth experiences. They may be perennials in other climate zones.
Perennials that grow very well and look lovely include gardenias, frangipani, verbena, lantana, bougainvillea.

Plants that I would like to include in my garden are succulents and dwarf conifers.

A large part of the garden also includes West Australian native plants including kangaroo paws, Geraldton wax, acacias, and eucalypts. Native plants attract a lot of native wildlife such as birds and marsupials.
